It is my great pleasure to introduce the third issue of the “Journal of the Turkish-German Gynecological Association (J Turk Ger Gynecol Assoc)” in the publishing year of 2026. This issue is consisted of six articles that we hope you will read with interest. Also you may have the oppurtunity to read two quizzes. Here we share some of our favorite articles that were published in this issue of the journal.
One of the most commonly performed surgical procedures involving the female reproductive system in gynecologic practice is the hysterectomy. Both patients and surgeons can benefit from robotic-assisted hysterectomy in a number of ways. Improved ergonomics, tremor filtration, increased instrument articulation, and improved three-dimensional imaging enable precision surgical procedures with less tissue damage. A study comparing the safety and efficacy of unidirectional barbed (V-Loc) sutures versus conventional polyglactin 910 (Vicryl) sutures for robotic vaginal vault closure, will be available for you to read.
Adolescents with mental disorders (MD) virtually always become pregnant inadvertently. This risk is increased by impulsivity, a lack of planning and behavioral control, and the challenge of consistently utilizing contraceptives. The quarterly injectable depot medroxy-progesterone acetate (DMPA) and long-acting reversible contraceptives, which include hormonal and non-hormonal intrauterine devices (IUD) and subcutaneous implants, are among the most popular methods of birth control among teenagers with MD. You will also have the opportunity to read a study evaluating the continuity and satisfaction rate with the use of hormonal IUD and quarterly DMPA for 12 months in adolescents with MD.

The Scopus CiteScore of the J Turk Ger Gynecol Assoc was announced as 2.4 in 2024 and 2.5 in 2025. The 2024 CiteScore was calculated based on 340 citations received by 143 documents published between 2021 and 2024, while the 2025 CiteScore was calculated based on 316 citations received by 124 documents published between 2022 and 2025. Based on these data, the journal’s CiteScore increased slightly but positively from 2.4 to 2.5. This increase indicates that, despite the decrease in the number of documents within the evaluation period, the journal maintained its citation performance and sustained its visibility within Scopus. In terms of category performance, the journal ranked #113 out of 210 journals and was placed in the 46th percentile in the Obstetrics and Gynecology category in 2024. In 2025, it ranked #116 out of 218 journals and was placed in the 47th percentile. This result shows that the journal largely maintained its visibility within the category and achieved a slight improvement in percentile ranking. The 2026 CiteScoreTracker is currently 1.9. This is an interim indicator calculated based on 180 citations and 97 documents recorded to date. Since the Tracker value is updated monthly throughout the year, it should not be considered the final CiteScore result; it may change as new citations are received during the year.
